Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. We have been supplying wedding marquees for over 30 years in many different sizes, from a small traditional marquee for 30 guests in a garden to a large frame marquee for an Asian wedding for over two thousand at a stately home.

The client asked us to supply a marquee for five events on consecutive nights with varying numbers of guests. The marquee was to be used for five Durham University Students Summer Balls.

The client wanted a number of marquees suitable for a typical Indian wedding celebration with over 500 guests. The main marquee was for the wedding ceremony during the day then for dining and evening entertainment.
Crookfest, Millfield Football Ground, Crook.
The brief:
The client who has used our services for many years asked us to provide three marquees for a music event with a variety of rock styles in Crook. They also required a high bar in one of the marquees
It was a one day event with expected capacity of 1500+.
Power and catering were to be supplied in-house.
The solution:
We supplied:
35m x 12m frame pavilion with black out lining and walls around stage area and high bar along one 40m end.
21m x 9m frame pavilion with 12m PVC clear walls and black walls in one end.
12m x 12m vintage pole peg marquee.
All three frame pavilions were supplied on 2.4m high walls to ensure they were high enough to allow the acts to perform on stage with adequate ‘head’ clearance.
The Royal Derwent Hotel, Allensford, Consett
The brief:
The client asked us to supply a marquee for five events on consecutive nights with varying numbers of guests.
The marquee was to be used for five Durham University Students Summer Balls.
The site was the Derwent Manor, near Consett and the client wanted minimum disruption and noise for the guests staying at the hotel.
The client organised his own power supply.
The solution:
We supplied:
55m x 25m frame pavilion with ivory inner lining suitable for 1000 guests – the largest function.
For the smallest function with 600 guests, we screened off one section of the marquee
The marquee had a full interlocking floor and charcoal carpet with a polished pine dance area,
Gold Gilt bentwood chairs and round tables to suit.
There was a separate food prep marquee for the hotel staff to use.
The Executive toilet units were supplied by Loos4hire of Bishop Auckland.
To ensure that there was no inconvenience to hotel guests we worked to the client’s specified schedule, arriving around 8:00am and off site by 16:00pm.

They wanted space for a ‘chill – out’ are within the marquee and suitable furniture and a feature entrance.
The bride preferred an inner lining in a neutral colour without a coloured trim.
Their own gazebo was to be used for the outside bar.
The solution:
We suggested that either a freestanding frame or a traditional pole peg marquee, either to have an all ivory ruched inner lining. They chose the frame option and complimented the ivory lining with Limewashed Chiavari chairs with ivory seat pads
A 6m x 6m pagoda with double glass doors formed the feature entrance with PVC window walls to one side. 2 three seater white leather sofas were placed within the pagoda and a table for guests to leave cards, etc. before going into the main marquee.
We advised on and organised the generator and the client distributed the electrics thenselves.
The client cut back the trees tyo accommodate the marquee.
Small vehicles were used because of the limited access to the site.
Frequently Asked Questions
Marquees can be used throughout the year. Some of our largest events are during December when we supply marquees for corporate Christmas parties. Thermostatically controlled heating ensures they are as warm as a function suite.
The size is determined by the number of guests and what else is going into the marquee, such as dance floors, reception areas or exhibitions. We will advise you on what we recommend after we have discussed your requirements.
The cost of the marquee depends on many things, the size, the time of year, the length of hire and travelling costs. We will provide a quotation that takes all these things into consideration.
The marquee is normally delivered one or two days before the event depending on the size and internal decoration. This gives time for caterers to set up and for internal decorations and flowers to be put in place.
The marquee is usually collected within a day or two after the event.
It varies but the sooner you book, the better. We are always heavily committed during May – August with annual events, so we get fully booked very quickly during this period. All we require in the early days is an indication of the final number of guests and the date. We then remove your marquee and furniture from our ‘available’ hire stock. A team of erectors are also allocated at this stage.
